Your boss has just called you in the late afternoon. Next thing you know, your boss wants you at the other side of the country that very evening. However, that day happens to be the very time when most people feel the need to travel across the country too. Now you need to fight through all the other travelers to get a last minute travel deal plane ticket from “here to there” all within the hour. How is that even possible? Well, it is.
More times than not, there is always an airline that will travel to your particular destination. Calling a travel agency could help a great deal when it comes to obtaining last minute tickets. Some companies are so skilled that they can get you the last seat on the “Red Eye” flight. Unfortunately, the process in which you get to where you need to go isn’t always the most luxurious. Some times the last minute tickets have very expensive prices or you’re placed in the very worst spot on the plane or the counter lady is being a flat-out pain. But, hey, it’s a seat, right?
While all that may seem like a terrible hassle just to please your boss, it could all prove to be very worth while when you arrive at the end destination. Last minute travel deals can also help when it comes to getting a hotel. With kind, persuasive words, you could easily book yourself a decent room at one of the nicer hotels. Some hotels even offer special “70 percent off” discounts for last minute arrivals because they want to sell the room and you might not be staying very long. The trick to “instantaneously” obtaining tickets and hotels is to research thoroughly.

Plan a trip to watch the 20-20 Cricket Worldcup in June
Do you know about cricket? Enjoy the sport? Want to go and watch it all happen in person? Then start planning! You could sit at home and watch the 2009 ICC World 20/20 cricket tournament from the small television screen at home or you could start researching for good airline tickets straight to England. Which sounds better? Come June 2009, twelve teams will compete against each other for an ever famous title. The first tournament was held in South Africa during September of 2007 with twelve competitive teams as well. It was a nine day event that must’ve been very exciting for the viewers.
Now, imagine yourself sitting in the stands, hollering at the opposing team to lose while cheering for your favored group to give it their all. Enticing, isn’t it? You could paint yourself with the team colors and bond with the other fans. But you have to plan first! Going to buy a plane ticket on a whim a week before the tournament isn’t necessarily the best situation to put yourself in. Not only do you need to get a seat on a plane, you need stadium seats, a hotel room and schedule days-off from work or other obligations.
Luckily, a little online research, specified travel dates, special discounts and good planning should remedy minor complications. It shouldn’t be too hard with some determination. After all, it’s the one of the most popular cricket tournaments out there! It wouldn’t be good to be the only one to miss it.

Last Minute Deals to the Indian Premier League
This year, 2009, the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be hosting their second season in South Africa. The new season will start off on April 18 and end on May 24. This event is expected to be one of the biggest cricket tournaments in the world after the Cricket World Cup. It is estimated that the television audience will consist of more than 200 million people in India alone.
With all of this in mind, what cricket fan would want to miss out on such a great event? Since the television audience is expected to be so large, it is fairly reasonable to say that the stadium stands will also be packed. If you haven’t yet bought or reserved your tickets to be in the actual gaming stadium, then it’ll be a bit taxing to get some. Bloggers have already stated that the IPL tickets sold within hours of going on sale. However, I can’t help much in that area…but I can help with trying to find good airline ticket deals!
Flights to South Africa around this time are most likely very packed with not too many seats left. Although, if you’re fine with sitting in a little bit less than extravagant seat and with lots of people around you, then there’s some hope. For an airplane ticket to Durban, South Africa (one of the stadium locations) from the JFK airport in New York, the price is around $825. This price is from South African airlines using the dates of April 17 to May 25 (used CheapOair for price comparisons). With this price, you will have a seat to the destination a day before the tournament begins and a spot reserved for you when it’s time to return home.

3 Places to Visit This Summer-Sights, Sounds and Scenery
There are many great vacationing spots throughout the entire world. Some may like hot places like Southern America, Europe and Africa while others may prefer cooler temperatures in Antarctica, New Zealand and Australia. However, temperature differences aren’t the only components to what makes a vacation spot attractive. Visitors often enjoy some sort of entertainment when they travel. In America, New York is one the most popularized destinations. While in the city, a person can enjoy talent shows of all kinds on Broadway but the countryside holds an entirely different category of enjoyment.
Traveling through the more scenic parts of New York allows a tourist to experience luscious green landscapes and traveling up towards Maine, along with your passport, gives you the chance to view the beautiful Niagara Falls. While New York seems to provide tourists with a variety of attractions, traveling to a place like Italy provides travelers with a taste of history. The Colosseum, Parthenon and Spanish Steps have such great presence that, when visited, can make a person feel like they have traveled back to the past.
Another place that holds plenty of historic folklore is New Zealand. During the North American summer, New Zealand is in its winter. So, if you’re looking for a cool down destination during your summer vacation, this may be one of the best spots. The Kiwi’s, New Zealand citizens, provide tourists with extravagant and entertaining stories of centuries old folklore about monumental mountains throughout their country. Local storytelling provides your mind with visions of great events from the past, thus there is no chance to get bored while traveling. Each destination throughout the world has its own unusual attractions, even though some are more visited than others.

The Recommended Essentials While Traveling: Emergency Bags
While traveling, whether it is on an airplane, train or car, it is important to have an “emergency bag”. This bag is usually in a findable spot and separate from the bulk of the luggage. Special medications, travel papers, emergency contacts and other various needed supplies are stored in this secure bag. If a person is a passenger on an airplane, it is highly recommended that they pack their “emergency bag” in a carry-on bag, especially if they are traveling with children.
As troublesome as it may sound, children have a tendency to get wiggly and messy while having to sit in a seat for more than an hour. A parental “emergency bag” would most likely contain LOTS of napkins/paper towels, small but entertaining toys, coloring books, non-messy coloring instruments (crayons, washable marker or colored pencils) and healthy snacks. However, if someone is traveling alone, their bag may have items that will help them in drastic situations.
So, now that the uses of an “emergency bag” have been covered, what about traveling in a car? Driving to a destination can most definitely take a lot longer than airplane but time isn’t necessarily the issue…it’s the probability of an accident that is a primary concern. Emergency bags that are stored in a car should probably hold important items such as candles/matches for warmth, flares, water bottles, non-perishable foods, and warm clothing.
These bags don’t have to stay in the vehicle at all times but having it handy during a long distance trip is often highly recommended. Overall, an emergency bag should contain what is most essential for basic living. The contents can vary between person to person but all should keep in mind what is needed to keep them alive or sane in emergency situations.
