3 Jewels of Malaysia

South East Asia is well known for the splendour of its tropical rainforests. There you will discover Malaysia, a beautiful country booming with Mother Nature’s best. Below are the three most popular destinations offering unique experiences with nature.

1. Pulau Perhentian (Perhentian Islands)

A cluster of islands just 21 kilometres off the coast of Terengganu, on the North-eastern region of Malaysia, proudly presents their powdery white beaches surrounded by sapphire blue waters. The Perhentian Islands are also proud of their coral-laden waters which never fail to amaze and captivate. This explains why scuba diving is so popular here. Popular attractions include the Marine Park, the unspoilt jungle and the fishing villages. They are virtually untouched and thus retain their natural beauty. The islands are without a doubt one of nature’s greatest gifts of beauty, a wonderful spot for tranquil and relaxing vacations.

2. Sabah, Borneo Island

Sabah is a state of Malaysia situated in the northern tip of Borneo Island, the third largest island in the world. Popular for its wildlife conservation efforts, it is only natural for Sabah to be very dense in tropical rainforests. However the main attraction lies with Mt. Kinabalu, East Asia’s highest peak. The capital of Sabah is Kota Kinabalu which is also the largest city in East Malaysia. Other popular attractions include Maliau Basin in Danum Valley and the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre.

3. Sarawak, Borneo Island

The island of Borneo has yet another treasure to share and it goes by the name of Sarawak. Like Sabah, Sarawak is also known for its national parks and peaks (Mt. Mulu). Unlike Sabah however, Sarawak’s treasure resides within its caves, the more famous ones being the Niah caves. Apart from that, Borneo’s oldest museum, Museum Sarawak, is also a popular tourist attraction. It showcases the history of archaeology, ceramics and textiles of the island.
