Plan a Holiday in Bangkok

When you are looking to get away for a holiday or spend a wonderful vacation, you may want to consider visiting the rich and beautiful land of Bangkok. Whether it be the glittering temples, the exotic Grand Palace, the attractions of the Wat Po with the ever powerful stature of Buddha, or the peaceful scenery at Wat Arun, Temple of the Dawn and so much more, Bangkok truly has something for every one of any taste and style.

History of Bangkok

It is part of the history of Bangkok that before 1939, the country was actually called Siam. It never has been colonized, and actually preferred the name Thailand which signifies the Land of the Free Men. There are 60 million people there, 90 percent of whom hold Buddhism as their religion. There is much that has remained the same in this cultural community as women still will go outside of their houses after dawn to offer monks some rice that was cultivated. Bangkok is very true and loyal to their past and their heritage.

The capital Bangkok, you will no doubt be breathless at the sight and awe of the peaceful atmospheres of the temples. You can then experience the passages of the time as you take a boat up along the beautiful Chao Phraya River. Along that boat ride on the river you will be able to observe the canals, the colonial quarters of the legendary Oriental Hotel and many of the breathtaking and futuristic looking skyscrapers that line the skyline. When you are visiting the beautiful land of Bangkok, make sure you take the time to check out Chinatown. The dwellers of the city actually need to travel almost 100 kilometers in order to find an authentic floating market.

The Temples of Bangkok

No matter what brings you to Bangkok, there is truly a lot to see and to do and you will be amazed at the rich culture and diversity that is found among every corner and in every area of the beautiful city. The temples are truly an inspiration to a lot of people, and those who practice Buddhism as their religion, marvel at the breathtaking statue of Buddha. Take your time and enjoy and see all there is that Bangkok has to offer on your next holiday get away or vacation destination.
